The Most Annoying Things in Your Golf Bag (and How to Fix Them)
Tangled tees, missing markers, soaked towels. Here are the small frustrations every golfer puts up with — and the fixes that take 30 seconds.
Golf is hard enough. Your bag shouldn't make it harder. Here are the most common bag-level annoyances — and how to actually fix them.
1. Tees that scatter everywhere
The fix: a dedicated tee holder. Loose tees in the ball pocket are a black hole. A clip-on tee carrier on your bag strap means you grab two and walk to the tee box.
2. Lost ball markers
You set one down on the green. You forget it. Repeat 40 times a season. The fix: a magnetic marker built into your divot tool — it can't separate.
3. The soaked towel problem
A wet towel in a side pocket molds. Hang it on a carabiner outside the bag so it dries between holes.
4. Glove that won't dry
Don't ball it up in the cart. Clip it to the bag, fingers down, after each hole. It'll be usable again by hole 14.
5. Rangefinder digging at the bottom
If you use it every shot, it shouldn't take 20 seconds to find. A magnetic mount on the cart bar or bag strap solves this.
6. The "five tools to repair one divot" problem
Divot tool in one pocket. Marker in another. Towel clipped somewhere else. The fix is consolidation — a single accessory that does it all.
7. Pencil-less scorecard
Always tape a spare pencil to the inside of your bag. Every clubhouse runs out at noon.
8. Drink that's somehow always warm
Insulated bottle. Not a plastic water bottle that's been baking since 9am.
9. Phone with no battery by hole 12
GPS apps drain phones. A 5,000mAh battery pack lives permanently in the bag pocket.
10. The mystery rattle
Find it. It's a tee. It's always a tee.
Most "annoyances" come from carrying too much, badly organized. The fix is rarely "buy more stuff" — it's "carry one thing that works."
